(posted 2014-09-10 05:28:43.873) An AD1/2-1 would be very useful, but could be even better if it had as large as possible a hole straight through so that 1" filters could be mounted into, e.g., a VM05 jlow
(posted 2014-09-18 01:34:08.0) Response from Jeremy at Thorlabs: Thank you very much for your feedback. If you need something like this right away, you could put together adapters like SM05AB1, SM1A1, and SM1P1 to hold Ø1" optic in VM05. sam
 (posted 2013-05-08 12:45:32.45) Hi:
This is a suggestion to add a soft-tipped set-screw on the side to adapters like the AD8T so that optics can be swapped quickly. This could be in addition to the locking ring, in place of it, or for a separate product.
Thanks!

(posted 2013-05-09 16:14:00.0) Response from Chris at Thorlabs: Thank you for your feedback. At the moment we currently offer these for the most common sized optics like the 1/2" AD1 and 15mm AD15MM. For the time being, you could use the LMRA8 adapter to get a 1/2" diameter for use with the AD1. I will log your request within our internal discussions to see if we can expand this line of adapters. ntrail
(posted 2013-03-05 18:15:22.69) Can you confirm if the SM1AD9 can mount (internal threads) the AC064-015-A-ML? The "M9x0.5" vs. "M9.5x0.5" is throwing me off...
Thank you! cdaly
(posted 2013-03-06 18:55:00.0) Response from Chris at Thorlabs: Thank you for using our web feedback. The 9 and 9.5 in M9x0.50 and M9.5x0.50 call out the major diameter, so these threads are of a different size. To adapt the AC064-015-A-ML to an SM1 threading, you would want the S1TM09 adapter. jlow
(posted 2012-08-20 14:24:00.0) Response from Jeremy at Thorlabs: The LMRA6.35 adapter might work better than the SM1AD7 in this case. I will get in contact with you to discuss about this further. perrin1
(posted 2012-08-15 16:58:57.0) Is the SM1AD7 compatible with 6.25mm-6.1mm optics or is a 6.35mm diameter the limit? tholste

(posted 2012-07-25 16:21:20.0) It would be nice if there was an adapter kit, that came with a variety of adapter parts. jjurado
(posted 2011-05-13 16:32:00.0) Response from Javier at Thorlabs to cbrideau: Thank you for your feedback. There is actually a link to this page in the optomechanical adapters page. Regarding the search tool, it is possible that certain search parameters were not internally mapped to the adapters page. Please contact us at techsupport@thorlabs.com if you would like to discuss this a bit further. cbrideau

(posted 2011-04-04 10:33:44.0) How about an AD1/2-1? rbjaculbia
(posted 2010-11-16 23:11:43.0) What we actually need is an adapter with an external SM1 thread and the other end should be able to mount a Ø2" optic using a setscrew tor
(posted 2010-11-11 13:09:16.0) A response from Tor at Thorlabs to rbjaculbia: We offer a stock adapter, SM1A2, that features internal SM2 threads and external SM1 threads. The SM1A2 affords compatibility between SM1 lens tubes and Ø2" optics mounts. Please do not hesitate to contact us at techsupport@thorlabs.com if you would like to explore other possible solutions. rbjaculbia
(posted 2010-11-11 05:28:38.0) Could you customize the AD1-2 so that the Ø1" side has SM1 threads? This would allow us to mount a Ø2" optics to the end of an SM1 lens tube or to some other SM1 threaded holders. I think this would also be a nice addition to your adapters klee
(posted 2009-08-19 12:08:29.0) A response from Ken at Thorlabs to mados123: We do not have plan for making a 2" optic to 3" tube adapter as a standard item at this moment. We can do this as a special though. Please email us at techsupport@thorlabs.com if you would like to get a quote for that. mados123

Ø1/2" Optic Mounted in a Ø1" KM100 Mirror Mount Using an AD1 Adapter
These unthreaded adapters both feature a smooth Ø1" outer surface. The AD1 adapter has a Ø1/2" counterbore while the AD15MM adapter offers a Ø15 mm counterbore; optics are secured against two contact lines using a nylon-tipped setscrew.

Ø2" Mirror Mounted in a Ø1" KM100 Mirror Mount Using an AD1-2 Adapter
The AD1-2 features an internal 2" mounting diameter with an external 1" mounting diameter compatible with Ø1" mounts. A nylon-tipped setscrew holds the optic securely against two contact lines machined into the inside diameter. Optics must have a minimum thickness of 0.20" (5.13 mm) to be properly retained.
These internally threaded mounting adapters are ideal for stress-free mounting for optics from Ø5 mm to Ø20 mm. Retaining rings can be used to hold these adapters in an SM1 lens tube. With a smooth outer diameter, the AD1T is especially well-suited for mounting Ø1/2" optics into Ø1" mounts. One retaining ring is included for securing optics in the adapter; for detailed specifications for each type of thread, please see our retaining ring presentation.
Alternatively, Thorlabs offers internally threaded, post-mountable fixed mounts for mounting optics from Ø5 mm to Ø4".

The SM1A60 adapter features an internal Ø0.7" bore with external SM1 (1.035"-40) threads as well as an external Ø1" smooth bore. This allows our SM05 Lens Tubes to be mounted within our SM1 Lens Tube System, as well as within SM1-threaded mounts, such as the LMR1. The outer surface of the adapter also has a smooth section which can be used to secure it into a Ø1" optics mount with a smooth bore, such as the KM100 Kinematic Mount.

The SM1 Series Adapters are internally threaded adapters for optics from Ø5 mm to Ø20 mm. Featuring an SM1-threaded outer diameter, these adapters are designed to mount with Ø1" lens tubes or other internally SM1-threaded components. Two retaining rings are included for securing optics in the adapter; for detailed specifications for each type of thread, please see our retaining ring presentation.
Alternatively, Thorlabs offers internally threaded, post-mountable fixed mounts for mounting optics from Ø5 mm to Ø4".
